One of the best ways to keep your immune system strong is to shop your supermarket’s produce aisle. Fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients called antioxidants that are good for your immune system and the rest of you.

☆What to Eat: Add more fruit and vegetables of any kind to your diet. It'll help your health. Some foods are higher in antioxidants than others, though. The 3 major antioxidant vitamins are beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E. You’ll find them in colorful fruits and vegetables, especially those with purple, blue, red, orange, and yellow hues.

■Beta-carotene and other carotenoids: Apricots, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, corn, green peppers, kale, mangoes, turnip and collard greens, nectarines, peaches, pink grapefruit, pumpkin, squash, spinach, sweet potato, tangerines, tomatoes, and watermelon.

■Vitamin C
: Berries, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cantaloupe, cauliflower, grapefruit, honeydew, kale, kiwi, mangoes, nectarines, orange, papaya, red, green, or yellow peppers, snow peas, sweet potato, strawberries, and tomatoes. 

■Vitamin E: Broccoli, carrots, chard, mustard and turnip greens, mangoes, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers, spinach, and sunflower seeds.

Cleaning Hack - Shower Head

Start out filling up your sandwich bag with distilled white vinegar. 


■The amount that you add should depend on the size of your shower head, but you want it submerged. 


■About a cup of vinegar should do and you can also add 3-4 drops of lemon essential oil (I sell essential oils). 


■Submerge your shower head in the bag and group the bag together at the top of the shower head. ■Use an elastic band to tie the bag on and hold it in place.  You want to let the shower head sit in this mixture overnight. 


■In the morning, take the bag off of the shower head and simply wipe with a wet sponge (no scrubbing involved). 


■Run the shower for a minute or two before hopping in so that you make sure that the vinegar and lemon oil is off of the shower head. That's it!

Breastfeeding - Latching Issues

I have received e-mails from women having issues with breastfeeding and I want to cover this topic again as you should check to make sure this isn't an issue with your baby before giving up on breast feeding and giving formula. 


My husband and I discovered that London had: Ankyloglossia also known as tongue-tie, which is a congenital oral anomaly which may decrease mobility of the tongue tip and is caused by an unusually short, thick lingual frenulum, a membrane connecting the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth. 





London inherited this genetic trait from her father but we had it fixed by a nose, throat, and ear M.D. as it was affecting her breastfeeding sessions. She was still having trouble latching on to my right side so I was told by my Homeopathic M.D. to buy this crafty little thing and it worked like magic! 


Breastfeeding no longer hurt and she was getting full on each feeding session! I purchased mine at Target for $9.99, this shield helps with latching difficulties and so much more! They have different sizes as each woman's breast and nipple is not the same size.

Nutritional Yeast & It's Benefits

Nutritional Yeast is a powerhouse of nutrients and I believe is a great addition to a healthy lifestyle, especially for those who are vegan or vegetarian. 


It is one of the few non-animal sources of B-12, is rich in folic acid and many other nutrients and amino acids.  This is not your typical yeast & is FREE of the Candida Albicans strain, making it SAFE for those concerned with Candida. 


Nutritional Yeast is very rich in B vitamins, including B12, which is what gives it that yellow color. One serving of nutritional yeast, about ½-1 Tbsp, provides the full amount of B12 needed for an adult in day, not bad. 


It is a great source of 18 amino acids, protein, folic acid, biotin and other vitamins. It is also rich in 15 minerals including iron, magnesium, phorphorus, zinc, and chromium, & selenium. It is grown on beet sugar & molasses, fermented & dried so it is gluten free & non-yeast forming in the body. Most companies dry it at a high heat so it is not a raw food. My understanding is that the yeast needs to be heated so that it is NOT live & active in the body, causing any yeast production in the GI tract. 


I highly recommend it for babies & toddlers who are not nursing & using formula. Also, if your baby is using a homemade Baby Formula or any other homemade recipe, the addition of nutritional yeast would be wise and very beneficial for your growing infant & toddler. 


Nutritional yeast would be an important addition to dairy and/or non-dairy (almond, rice, hemp, oat, coconut, flax, hazelnut, sunflower, & whole grain) "milk" for your baby, toddlers & kids while the yeast provides good amounts of B12, Folic Acid, & Iron nutrients.

While blood cells should float freely; platelets need to be sticky. Platelets rush to the rescue when injuries occur. They clot the blood so that the wound can seal and heal quickly. If the blood is too thin, this process cannot happen. White blood cells keep “invaders” at bay by releasing proteins that kill viruses, bacteria, yeast and parasites. 


At the first sign of trouble, these soldiers are sent out to fight. If the immune system is vigilant, the war will be won. If not, the body will succumb to disease. When the immune system is compromised, parasites and yeast are able to enter the bloodstream quite easily. They thrive inside of us and multiply quickly. Should they actually make their home there, “dis-ease” is sure to follow. These hosts steal vitamins and minerals, even calcium from our bones, which is vital to our health. Over time bones & teeth can become weak, allowing osteoporosis to set in. Most illnesses have an underlying yeast condition. 


Common Symptoms of Yeast & Candidas include:

•Flu 
•Fatigue 
•Irritability 
•Brain Fog 
•Inability To Concentrate

Milk and its derivatives are also mucolytic, which means they create mucous in the body. This inflammatory response affects the stomach, joints, intestines and sinuses. It even affects the stickiness of your cells. Other highly acid-forming/inflammatory consumables include all meat, eggs, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and coffee. 


Blood is an incredible liquid! It is cleansing, hydrating and nourishing. Without it we cannot survive. Our bodies know exactly what to do to regenerate and heal, all we have to do is treat it with kindness and give it the tools it needs to do its perfect work.

Lemon Mask Recipe (Acne) / Storage Tips

How to Store Lemons: Lemons can be left out at room temperature for a week. However, they will begin to dry out during this time. If you are not planning on using your lemons within a few days of purchase, store them in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. 
To keep your lemons away from damaging moisture, place them in a ziplock bag and squeeze out the air. When lemons are in an airtight plastic bag and placed in the refrigerator, they will remain fresh for up to a month. 


Acne: Lemons contain hydroxy acid. This acid is commonly used in products designed to get rid of dead skin, unclog pores and eliminate acne and scarring. Instead of spending money on these expensive products, you can treat acne and acne scars using lemons. Juice a lemon and soak a cotton ball in the juice. Gently wipe the juice on your face and leave for several minutes before rinsing off. 


Some people are sensitive to this technique, so you might want to test a small area before applying lemon juice to your whole face. If burning, peeling or irritation occurs, discontinue use. To make the juice a little less potent and potentially irritating, you can dilute it with water. 


Lemon and Sea Salt Scrub: This scrub is perfect for softening the skin, getting rid of acne and scarring, and eliminating age spots. Sea salt and lemon are both antibacterial and work to cleanse and exfoliate. Using this scrub will give you brighter, softer and renewed skin. 


☆Ingredients: •1 lemon •1 Tablespoon olive oil •5 Tablespoons sea salt 


☆Procedure: Thoroughly mix the olive oil and sea salt (if you don't mix these first, the lemon will dissolve the salt). Squeeze the lemon juice over the salt and oil. Mix and use as you normally would any facial scrub!

Although, Preparation H is commonly used, sliced potatoes work wonders for puffiness and dark circles and is a safer and healthier alternative. To banish bags, simply put on a potato and poof... The puffiness is gone. 

Ingredients: 
•1 potato 
•1 Tablespoon Vitamin E 

Directions: 
Wash the potato well. Cut two 1/8-inch slices from the middle (save the rest for the next several nights). Apply one on top of each eye for 20 minutes. Remove the potatoes and apply Vitamin E in a circular motion around and under the eyes. 



Vitamin K can kick out dark circles, vitamin K heals damaged capillaries and minimizes the pooling of blood under the eyes, a major factor in causing dark circles. The thinner the skin near eye, the more visible the dark circles will appear if this isn't done. Dark circles won't disappear overnight with vitamin K. But with patience, you'll see a big difference. These ingredients all contain the big K. 


Ingredients: 
•2 cups of distilled water 
•1 bunch of basil 
•1 bunch of parsley leaves 
•3 pieces of lettuce 
•3 pieces of cabbage 


Directions: Boil the water in a pan and throw in the remaining ingredients. Simmer for 18 minutes and then strain the liquid and pour it into a reusable container. Apply with a washcloth or cotton ball under the eyes and leave on for 10 minutes. Repeat daily. This mixture must be refrigerated. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of vodka or wine or grapefruit seed extract to make this dark circle buster last a month!

Apple Cider Vinegar Health Benefits

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Health Benefits 


■Stomach ache – Sip on 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with water. Due to its antibiotic properties it will help kill bad bacteria in your tummy. It may even contain pectin, which will soothe intestinal spasms. 


■Prevents Indigestion – Add 1 teaspoon of honey + 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to warm water and drink 30 minutes before you eat. 


■Soothes Sore throat – Mix 1/4 Warm water with 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar every hour. 


■Add Shine to hair – It will also clean it and remove build up from hair products and pollution. Fill a cup with 1 cup ACV and 2 cups water. Pour the solution through your hair after shampooing (2-3 times a week)! 


■Use as a facial toner – Mix 1 part ACV with 2 parts water in a water bottle or jug with lid. Shake it up before you use it and pour some on a cotton swab (use after washing your face) and wipe on skin. 


■Helps Body Odor – It helps adjust the skin’s pH level which helps to eliminate odor-causing bacteria. Take a cotton ball filled with ACV and wipe it directly on the part where you have body odor. 


■Foot Odor – Add 2/3 cup of ACV to a pan with warm water and soak your feet in it for 20 minutes. ■Bad Breath – Add 1/2 tablespoon ACV into 1 cup of water and gargle every other day. 


■Cellulite – Mix 3 parts apple cider vinegar with 1 part Vitamin E oil and massage the into the skin two times a day. 


■Yeast Infections – Add 1 ½ cups apple cider into a bathtub filled with lukewarm water and then soak in it for about 20 minutes. This is done once a day for 3 days. After 3 days of soaking, make a mixture consisting of 1 ½ cups of water and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. This time use as a vaginal douche two times a day for 5 days. After a few days of douching, start to drink a glass of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar once a day. This can help prevent the occurrence of yeast infections. 


■Diarrhea – The pectin in ACV coats the inflamed colon lining. Add 2 tablespoons of ACV vinegar to some water in a large glass – can be taken 3 times a day when you have symptoms. 


■Acne - Apple cider kills bacteria, helps balance skin pH, and absorbs excessive oil from our skin. Use 1 part vinegar with 3-4 parts water. Apply to the skin using cotton swab and leave for ten minutes then rinse. Use 2 times every day. 


■Age spots - Blend and drain an onion in a bowl, and mix with an equal amount of apple cider. Apply with a cotton swab dipped in the mixture over the spots. 


■Cleaning House – Mix ½ cup of apple cider vinegar with one cup of water and you can use it to clean microwaves, bathroom tiles, kitchen surfaces, windows, glasses and mirrors. The mixture also works as a disinfectant.
