On February 15th, 2011, Brandon asked for my hand in courtship. It was at that moment we both decided that we wouldn't waste each others time or be in a purposeless relationship. We wanted God as the foundation of our courtship and we took that time to truly get to know each other and stay in the Word of God to keep us grounded and focused.
We talked about our possible future together: Foundation of our beliefs, how we wanted to raise and discipline our future children, our family, Medical History, likes and dislikes, and even the small details like: our favorite color, food, pet peeves, etc.
We wanted to know everything about one another (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly). We fasted together, prayed together, and studied God's Holy Word together. We wanted to be sure that we were God's best for eachother and although we were far from perfect we knew with God as the head of our lives we could be "perfect" for eachother.
We will be the first to tell you that marriage is not easy and people need to realize this. Yes, marriage is what you put into it and pray over but we solely rely on the strength of the Lord; but please don't be fooled by these so-called "power couples" you see on t.v and social media. Trust me, everyone has had their fierce battles behind closed doors and everything that glitters ain't gold!
I will always be transparent in all that I post because "there ain't no future in me frontin'".
But, our good days truly outweigh our "bad days" and we give God all the glory!
On September 15, 2012 we were married! I'm truly blessed to be married to such a kind hearted human being. I don't feel bad for all the other girls who missed this amazing opportunity (shrug).
I am very protective over him and our little family. I will and have shut down anything or anyone who has tried or will try to destroy what we have. I will continue to pray fervently for many more wonderful years together on this family adventure we are creating!♡
