Family Trip To Theodore Roosevelt Island
On August 11, 2013 my husband and I visited Theodore Roosevelt Island and we had a wonderful time. I was 6.5 months pregnant at the time but you cannot tell by looking at the photos, I got some much needed exercise and enjoyed the scenery as well.
Theodore Roosevelt Island is located on the George Washington Memorial Parkway near Rosslyn, Virginia.
Below is a breif description of what you will experience when visiting Theodore Roosevelt Island in Washington, D.C., and we hope that you enjoy the pictures that we took while visiting.
Theodore Roosevelt Island reflects the president's lifelong enjoyment of the outdoors. Three short trails showcase habitats designed by the Olmstead Brothers firm: the Swamp Trail, Woods Trail, and Upland Trail. These trails offer excellent wildlife viewing and a chance to leave concrete sidewalks behind. A formal memorial plaza includes quotes that capture Roosevelt's ideas about nature, manhood, youth, and the state.
There is no visitor center on the island itself. Information, brochures, maps, and National Park Passport stamps are available at visitor centers and at George Washington Memorial Parkway headquarters.
Two long-distance trails pass by Theodore Roosevelt Island. The Mount Vernon Trail is an 18-mile paved multi-use trail that runs between Theodore Roosevelt Island and Mount Vernon. Ten miles of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail lie between Theodore Roosevelt Island and the American Legion Bridge.

Antique Shopping At Boswell's Corner
On August 25, 2013 my husband and I visited Boswell's Corner which is an old antique shop located in Stafford, Virginia and there was so much to see we did not have time to really explore the two levels but we took pictures of what caught our attention. My husband and I enjoy antiquing and we are always looking for great bargains as we are a frugal family.
I have been back since then and have purchased a wonderful cast iron skillet and a griddle along with some beautiful Amber goblets from the 60's/70's that are no longer being made. The owner is beyond friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you are in town definitely pay this place a visit!

Mother's Day Weekend Getaway '14
My husband knew that I needed a mini vacation so he took me to Virginia Beach, Virginia for Mother's Day weekend.
It so happened that a music and food festival was going on at the same time we went.
He purchased the perfect hotel room and it was right on the beach! It was amazing to watch the ocean and people from our balcony as well as fall asleep to the ocean sounds.
We were so busy enjoying ourselves and the lovely weather that we forgot to capture most of the memories. Well, he was able to capture a few precious moments and you will find those below. Enjoy!

We visited Historic Fredericksburg's last remaining farm on 8/24/14 and had a blast!
We picked our own vegetables and taste tested the fresh berries growing.
We also took some beautiful pictures of our little adventure and will frame them to hang on our wall. We can't wait to visit the farm again.

Family Day At Busch Gardens
My husband and I have been planning a trip to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia.
We finally agreed on a date, rounded up our family including Brandon's immediate family (my in-laws) and made it happen on September 27, 2014. It was a beautiful fun filled Saturday with the family and we had a great time.
London's 1st Birthday Party!
We decided to have London's 1st Birthday Party at Braehead Farm on October 25, 2014 which is one of our favorite places.
Her true birth date is November 1st, however the venue was booked for the time that we wanted so we decided to have it the week before and we couldn't have picked a better date and time. It was sunny and the October Fest was going on at the same time.
We were even happier with our decision to have it a week early as it was very cold, gloomy, and rained on her actual birthday.
All the children had fun and I got great feedback from the adults who actually enjoyed themselves as well.
This is definitely a great place to have your child's birthday, we recommend it!

Family Road Trip To Luray, Virginia
On October 29, 2014, the family and I, along with my mother took a 2 hour road trip (the scenic route) to the Shenandoah Valley in Luray, Virginia. We visited the Luray Caverns as well as the Luray Valley Museum. After, we headed to Lees Orchard in Washington, Va to pick some apples.
We couldn't have picked a more perfect day to take this road trip♡
