How do we use charcoal on the skin?
Activated Charcoal can be used as a bath or applied as a plaster. The charcoal bath is used to treat large areas of the body. It is simple to prepare - Just add 2 cups of activated charcoal powder to your bath water. The charcoal plaster is useful for treating smaller body areas.
Applying as a plaster:
Mix activated charcoal powder and a little water and make a wet charcoal paste. Spread the paste on one half of a thin, folded piece of cloth. Then cover the paste with the other half of the cloth. Place the charcoal plaster on the affected body part—making sure it completely covers the area. Wrap the charcoal plaster with plastic wrap — to keep it from drying out. Bandage or tape the plaster securely in place. Leave on until next bath or shower then re-apply.
Taking It Orally:
- Powder Form -
Mix 1 tablespoon with a small amount of water. Add enough water to make up one glass of water. Take only as needed. If you have trouble taking charcoal in water, you can mix it with a small amount of coconut, hemp, or olive oil (as a paste) instead. Only take with water (not with juice or smoothies)!
SIDE NOTE:
Do not take charcoal with meals because food will slow down the charcoal's ability to adsorb.
The charcoal will be half as effective if your stomach has food in it.
You can purchase AC in health food stores or online.
